Hi, my name is Maria, I’m the digital manager at quantilope and have been with the company for two and a half years. Before quantilope, I worked for four years at an e-commerce company managing social media, content, and affiliate marketing.

  • 💻What are your responsibilities as a global digital marketing manager?

My responsibilities include budgeting, planning, implementing, tracking, and optimizing all paid advertising channels to achieve our marketing objectives and maximize ROI.

  • 🤓 What does your day-to-day look like?

My day-to-day involves strategizing ad campaigns, analyzing performance metrics, adjusting budgets and targeting, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure campaign effectiveness and alignment with our overall marketing goals.

  • 🔍What’s been your favorite project so far?

My favorite project so far has been bringing our paid media activities in-house. We had previously worked with an agency to manage our campaigns, so bringing everything in-house was a big challenge at first, but it allowed me to learn all the campaign setups myself and take on more responsibility. Being able to act flexibly, pause, reactivate, and adjust budget spend on a daily basis significantly increased the effectiveness and impact of our advertising.

  • 😍 What are you passionate about at work?
I'm passionate about data-driven insights and finding solutions. A big part of my job is analyzing and evaluating data to optimize our ads, targeting, budgets, or campaigns. Digital marketing is extremely dynamic - trends, algorithms, and formats change continuously, which I find exciting because it means I have to adapt and find new solutions very often.

  • 🚀What advice would you give to someone looking to get into a digital marketing role?
My advice for someone looking to get into a similar role would be to have an open and doer mindset and take advantage of all the online digital marketing learning resources (and many are free too!). Also, be prepared to try and test new things, and quickly learn from mistakes - I’ve learned so much through the experience of testing and learning what works and what doesn’t in our campaigns. The things I learned during my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees have helped me - but I’d say that these only cover about 20% of my job.

  • 👍 Why quantilope?

I’ve always wanted to work in a global role within an international company because I am super interested in the differences in culture and marketing approaches across the markets we operate in. quantilope is a special place to work - firstly because I feel surrounded by people with a similar enthusiasm and growth mindset, and secondly because of my team - the Marketing Team. I love that I have the freedom and feel encouraged and empowered to go ahead and test new things, and I’m given the time to continuously expand my knowledge of digital marketing trends.
